Steamin’ Stan was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. At age eleven Stan took up the saxophone, and continued with it until he was sixteen. Stan was eventually attracted to the harmonica as well, and began playing it in his late twenties while still driving truck for a living.
Stan took advantage of every opportunity to play music with other musicians and began playing professionally in his mid thirties while living in Central California.

With the support of his wife and family, Steamin’ Stan had become a full time musician and entertainer by the time he was just a shade over forty.  From then on you were just as likely to see Stan one night playing harmonica as a solo, and the next night in a band singing and playing guitar, and by Sunday morning you might see him in church playing sax.

Over the years since then, Stan has made many TV appearances, produced and hosted radio shows, shared his knowledge and love of music and the harmonica with state prison inmates, and performed at countless night clubs, country clubs, restaurants, festivals, concerts, weddings, and other special events throughout many parts of the U.S., and has had recordings included on projects from all over the world.  The most recent of which are the 2007 release by Delaney Bramlett on the Magnolia Gold label, titled A New Kind of Blues, and the 2006 release, ‘No Pork Tonight’, recorded with Stan’s long time friend, and guitarist, Martin Pugh on Sho-Nuff Records.  Performance Highlights of Steamin’ Stan’s career include ticket billing with B.B.King, Ray Charles, Robert Cray, Eddie Money, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Cocker, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

While it is uncertain exactly what the future holds for Steamin’ Stan, there are a couple things you can expect as long as he continues to entertain.  Steamin’ Stan fans will continue to come away from every Steamin’ Stan performance with the sense that they have witnessed an entertainer performing for them as though it were his last performance, putting every ounce of himself in to it.  And off stage they can always look forward to him being the humble, personable, and approachable cat they have always enjoyed hanging out with!
